Original Canadian Cabinet Oval Photograph of a Portrait of a Woman, marked on verso in black ink, 'May Secord' by photographer, 'Chas Sifton, Woodstock', Ontario, c1920, Mounting Board: 7.9” x 6”; Oval Photograph: 5” x 3 1/2”.
A beautifully clear, focused photogaph, it has an unusual shadow image of a side portrait of a woman on verso. This is attributed to be Victoria May Secord (1900-1989).
Victoria May Secord was born on May 24, 1900 in Burford, Brant, Ontario to David William Secord, 37, & Charlotte A. Holdsworth, 33. She married Clarenee Wesley King on July 29, 1922 in Woodstock, Oxford, Ontario. She lived in Oxford, Ontario in 1901. & Brant on 1911. She died in 1989 at 89.
