Original, Canadian, marked in Embossed Blue Lettering, 'Cochrane's Shipbuilding Company, Contractors, Shipbuilding & Repairing, Port Greville, Nova Scotia, K.J. Cochrane, General Manager' Letterhead, on Lined, Blank Receipt, Dated, 192_, 1920's, 6” x 5”, with creases, & bottom edge wear, commiserate with its age.
Cochrane Shipyard:
Dates of Existence: 1918-1934
History: Started by George Melville Cochrane in Fox River, Nova Scotia and taken over by his son Robert Cochrane upon his father's death in 1918. Closed in 1943.
Best known for building 3 masted “tern”schooner and built the last schooner on the Parrsboro Shore in 1929.
