Original Artwork, a Copper-Plate Engraving with images of an Indigenous Inuit Man, Woman & Baby on shore, with someone paddling a Kayak in the background, Titled below the image, 'Habits of Eskimaux Indians, Natives of Hudson's Bay', & marked above it, 'Engraved for Moore's Voyages & Travels', pg. 857, 'Travels Through America', A New and Complete Collection of Voyages & Travels:..., Alexander Hogg, London, U.K., 1778, 12.9” x 7.4”, with .4” top border tear, & light creasing approximately 1/4 from the top, not affecting the image.

The artwork was made by a copper plate engraving on medium weight, chain-linked cotton rich, paper.
From the title page it reads in part, 'A New and Complete Collection of Voyages and Travels: Containing, All that have been remarkable from the earliest Period to the present Time; and including not only the Voyages and Travels of the Natives of These Kingdoms,...by John Hamilton Moore...embellished with most superb and elegant Set of Copper-Plates,...engraved from the Designs of Samuel Wale, Esq.; Mr. Dodd, &c. By Grignion, Walker, Rennoldson, Goldar, Taylor, Conder, and other Capital Masters...Vol. II, London:..Alexander Hogg..MDCCLXXVIII.'
The chapter, from the above mentioned book, that contains the engraving is from, 'Travels Through America (pgs. 810-894) by Father Charlevoix, Profeffor (Professor) Kalm, Carver and others'.
BONUS: Description of the Inuit, in less than flattering terms, unfortunately, unsurprising of its time, from the book, informing, perhaps, the origins of the artwork, is provided to the purchaser.
