Rare, Original Canadian Razor Brown Hone with a Raised Decoration of a Beaver by the Hart Corundum Wheel Co. Limited, Hamilton, Ontario, c1905-1908, 5.75” x 2”, with wear including border chips.
The company that made this Hone had this name, 'Hart Corundum Wheel Co.' for only three years from 1905 to 1908.
“Gilbert Hart established Detroit Emery Wheel Co., which was originally known as Hart Emery Wheel Co.. When he opened a Canadian subsidiary, he re-used the original company name. In late 1905, the Hart Emery Wheel Co. Merged with competitor Canadian Corundum Wheel Co. to form the Canadian Hart Corundum Wheel Co. By 1908 this name had changed to Canadian Hart Wheel, Ltd., and by 1921 to Canadian Hart Products, Ltd..”
