Rare, Original Canadian Illustration, titled, 'The Esplanade, Toronto, Looking West from Union Station. (Herbert E. Simpson photo.)', with pencil notations below it, pg. 21 (pg. 22 is on verso), The Dominion Illustrated, A Canadian Pictorial Weekly, Published by G.E. Desbarats & Son, Montreal, Quebec, July 12, 1890, Page: 13” x 9.55”; Image: 8” x 5 3/4”; Missing part of page, not affecting image: 4.55” x 2 1/8”, with border wear, tears, & fold crease separation to the left of the image.
Under the H. Simpson is noted in graphite, “successor to Notman & Fraser – Retained all the negatives, Notman #25676, circa 1873-4, no waterworks – land fill rectangle, under construction – 81875”.
