Collections include vintage Russian treasures, most of them hand made with such amazing quality that 40 years later they seem almost new. Prices range from $10 to $200, averaging $30 per item. There are many Gzhel porcelain figures -- candle holders, clocks, dishes, usually displayed with animals -- bears and swans among favorites -- cobalt blue hand painted on white, an art dating back hundreds of years. There are also the Palekh lacquered boxes, featuring the centuries-old art of miniature painting. This art at one time focused on Orthodox religious subjects but in the last century concentrated on folk tales and nature scenes. There are also wooden bowls and spoons, painted in the Khokhloma tradition, a folk art form which used gold and bright colours on leaves, fruit, and flowers, lacquered and displayed on a black background.
