A pair of really nice 12-Speed Free Spirit racers in excellent condition.
Built for sales through Simpsons Sears in the 1980s by ProCycle in Quebec, Canada with French and / or Japanese parts, both bikes used little and stored indoors since new. These are not high-end Italian racers but they are good solid well-made bikes and with a modicum of care they will give good service and last for decades longer than a new Chinese throw-away bike. The bikes have fresh lube in the crank and wheel bearings, new cables, and new tires. See the pictures.
His and hers, his and his, hers and hers, hirs and hirs .... Whatever.
Your choice of two nice vintage bikes.
Maroon 1988 12-speed Free Spirit with a 21-inch (54cm) frame to fit a rider from 5'3" to about 5'8". $150.
Black 1984 12-speed Free Spirit with a 23-inch( 58cm) frame to fit a rider from 5'9" to about 6'2". $170.
<<< Nominal frame size numbers for Classic-style frames reflect actual the seat tube length in inches or cm as measured from the top of the seat tube to the centre of bottom bracket. Bikes with Classic frames ( all vintage Japanese, British, French, Italian, North American racers ) have a distinctive perfectly horizontal top tubes. Bikes with Compact frames (Chinese) have top tubes that obviously slope down from the head tube to the seat tube.>>>
BONUS: The bikes are not stolen. The seller will show identification and provide a Receipt / Bill of sale with full description of the bikes including serial numbers at time of sale.
Pick up at my home in Oshawa or at Oshawa GO-Train by arrangement. There is no problem taking a bicycle back to Toronto on the GO-Train. All of the GO-Train coaches now have a bicycle logo beside the doors to indicate where space has been reserved inside the coach for bike parking.
