One publication stood out from the pack the moment it hit newsstands in 1997. More of an art magazine about
interiors than a shelter magazine, NEST was both inspirational and inspired. Each zany, die-cut issue looked completely different from the one preceding it, and treated any kind of personal space, from bomb shelter to igloo,
as compelling design.

"Holzman's ingenious application of material and paper tip-ins, die-cuts, and foldouts, contribute to NEST's tactility which supports the reader's sense of being there ..... thanks to Joe Holzman for twenty-seven issues, each a
gem of uncompromised vision and weird but savory design."
