Robert Philip “Bob” Kaplan, PC QC (1936-2012) was a politician, & lawyer. He was a Member of Parliament from Toronto (1968-1972, 1974-1992), & Solicitor General of Canada (1980-1984). His partner (wife) Estherelke Tanenbaum Kaplan (1940-2009), the co-author of the book, was an early activist on behalf of hospice support for the terminally ill, & 'respect for the Earth' including organic food.
