Vintage 26” ( 590mm x 20mm) Sturmey Archer front bicycle wheel. The size known as 26″ x 1 3/8″ has a bead seat diameter (B.S.D.) of 590mm. This standard is called 650A. Was very popular for the vintage cruiser bikes.
The wheel shown below fit most three-speed vintage cruiser bikes. that were so popular from the 1940s through the 1970s.
- Rim - Chrome rim branded by Raleigh, made by Sturmey Archer in England.
- Hub - Surmey Archer. Made in England. Axle spacing: 96 mm
- Rim tape made in France.
The chrome plating is in pretty good condition for the 1970-s wheel. Wheel spins straight and was checked in a truing stand.
