The 1912 Canada 5-cent coin is a historic piece from the early years of Canadian coinage. Made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, it has a diameter of 15.5 mm and weighs 1.16 grams. The obverse features King George V’s effigy, designed by Sir E. B. Mackennal, marking his first appearance on Canadian coins. The reverse, designed by W. H. J. Blakemore, showcases a wreath surrounding the denomination and year, with “Canada” inscribed above. This coin was part of the final years of small silver 5-cent pieces before Canada transitioned to larger nickel versions in 1922.
