The 2005 Proof Silver Dollar from the Royal Canadian Mint is a commemorative coin celebrating the 40th anniversary of Canada's national flag, first raised on Parliament Hill on February 15, 1965. Reverse: Depicts a large image of the Canadian flag, with a smaller version flying atop the Peace Tower in Ottawa, surrounded by celebratory fireworks. Obverse: Features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt. Designer: William Woodruff, Royal Canadian Mint engraver. Encapsulated and presented in a maroon display case with a black outer sleeve. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Some editions came with a CD-ROM detailing the history of Canada’s flag and Coat-of-Arms. This coin is a beautiful tribute to a symbol that stirs national pride and unity.
