The 2005 U.S. Quarter Dollar coins are part of the 50 State Quarters Program, a wildly popular initiative that ran from 1999 to 2008. In 2005, five unique state designs were released: California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas, and West Virginia. Each coin features a state-specific reverse design and a common obverse.
