Original Canadian Impressionistic Landscape Artwork by Calum J. Cameron (b. 1937), Monoprint, 1/1, Titled twice, 'Northern Sunset', Signed, & Dated twice (on front matt & on verso of artwork), February, 1984, Original Metal Frame: 22 1/4” x 16 1/4”; Sight Image: 14.8” x 8.8”, in excellent condition with acid free overmat, & back mat.
Born in Gisborne, New Zealand, he was educated at the Wellington Teachers' College (1957-59). And, at the University of British Columbia with a major in Fine Arts & Theatre, after immigrating to Canada in 1960. His early influences include Alan Wylie (b. 1938), & Mike Svob (b. 1945). He was head of the Fine Arts Department, Chetwynd Secondary School, in Peace River South, B.C. (1983-2000). He founded an Art Gallery, & Art School in Bucerias (near Puerto Vallarta), Mexico (2000-2016). Moving back to Canada, Mr. Cameron opened an Art Gallery & Art School in Port Comax, British Columbia in 2018. Additionally, he exhibits at Gallery VanIsle, Comox, B.C., & at Island Exhibitions.
