Original Black & White Photograph of a De Havilland Tiger Moth Bi-Plane, Flying, Marked, '5020', on its wings, & tail, along with Roundels (Circle symbol), & Stamped in black on verso, 'Photographed by Allan W. Gifford, Order No. 1', c1943-1946, 13 1/8” x 10 1/8”, with curling, & 3/4” upper right side tear on each photograph.
Please note this is a clean photograph, & the image used here has light bouncing off it when photographed, hence the better closeup image.
The De Havilland Aircraft's Tiger Moth was used extensively for training during the Second World War (WWII). The roundels are used to indicate which allied air force the aircraft belong to, in this case, the Royal Canadian Air Force.
BONUS: Brief biography of the photographer, Mr. Gifford, including his connection to De Havilland, & the reasoning behind the timeline of the photograph, will be provided to the purchaser only.
