Original Canadian Folk Art Oil Painting on artist board by Ge orge Wi lson (b. 1971), depicting a Winter Landscape with Girls playing Hockey, with two wearing Toronto Maple Leaf Jerseys, & the other probably a Montreal Canadians one, Original Handmade Wooden Frame: 27.35” x 9 3/4”; Sight Image: 24 3/4” x 7”; Full Image: 25.85” x 8 1/8”, in excellent condition.
On the verso is a label with photo image of the artist marked, “Born in Toronto in 1971, the major influences in my life were by parents, natives of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Their history in these most scenic of Provinces inspired me to paint many east coast scenes. Starting at the age of 40 in Exeter Ontario I became a self-taught folk artist. I love to use bright colours to express my outlook on life.”
