An iconic name in Canadian business, E. was once Canada's largest department store retailer, known for its eagerly anticipated Christmas catalogues, & its Santa Claus Parade. It was started by Sir T. E aton (1834-1907), an Irish immigrant who opened the first store at 178 Yonge St. in Toronto, Ontario, & closed its doors in 2002.
