Haven Plant Based Eatery brings Toronto the next generation in Asian-inspired, fast-casual cuisine. Asian vegetarian cooking follows a long established tradition, and at Haven our mission is to reimagine it for a contemporary, plant-based lifestyle.

 Position Description:

Working diligently to prepare all menu items with efficiency, consistency and quality 

Follow detailed recipes to execute sauces, seitan, hot dishes and fresh-to-go items

Demonstrate strong knife skills in preparing vegetables and plant-based proteins

Thrive under the pressure of busy service times while maintaining par levels and supporting fellow team members

Safe and skillful mastery of our ovens, Chinese traditional wok, grills and deep fryer  

Maintaining neatly organized + labelled co-working space with other kitchen staff, with a clean-as-you-go mentality

Exceed Food Safety and Cleanliness standards at all times

Contribute ideas on menu innovations

Professionally monitoring and communicating stock levels around shortages and quality 

Receive and process large-volume deliveries of vegetables and supplies

Adhere to all operational policies and procedures with pride


Requirements: 

Minimum 1 year cook or prep cook experience in a fast-paced quick-service environment

Well-developed culinary and knife skills

Food Handler’s Certificate

Comfortable managing food and inventory levels

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Consistent weekly availability of minimum 15 hours per week

Ability to lift at least 40lbs

Plant-based cooking experience a strong asset

Traditional Wok experience a strong asset
