“Corn” plant, Dracaena Fragrans, 50 cm, easy care, growing well
Corn plants are grown as thick canes that sprout from buds along the cane, achieving a “false palm” effect, they have long narrow leaves. Plants grow tall and narrow, making them a good house plant leaving you room to live. They can withstand being ignored and recover well. Potential growth is higher than a home ceiling. Scientific name Dracaena Fragrans. Home country: Tropical Africa
Soil - loamy, well-drained potting soil; roots hate soaking
Humidity: at least 40% high, mist plant regularly
Light: bright indoor locations with indirect lighting, avoid direct sun and draft
Water: keep soil moist in growing season, then reduce water to late winter, avoid fluoride and boron, never let soil dry out
Temperature: never below 50 degrees F, best at 70 degrees F
Winds: avoid high winds if taken out in summer
Dust: clean leaves with damp cloth
Fertiliser: fertilize lightly Use calcium supplements (chelated calcium or even gypsum)
SIZE OF PLANT: trunk is 11.5 cm high above soil 3 cm bottom dia “trunk”
