Location: Scarborough, Ontario (Centenary Hospital)
Start Date: ASAP (Immediate Availability Preferred)
We are looking to hire a compassionate and experienced Macedonian or Greek speaking PSW to support an elderly individual in Scarborough. Hours are flexible and may include day shifts, evenings, and overnight stays depending on need.
Requirements:
• Fluent in Macedonian or Greek(speaking and understanding)
• PSW certification or equivalent experience
• Experience working with Alzheimer’s and dementia clients
• Patient, respectful, and calm in communication
• Ability to work with individuals experiencing:
o Memory loss
o Periods of confusion or delusion
o Limited mobility and physical challenges
• Knowledge of safe lifting, transfers, and mobility assistance
• Ability to provide reassurance and supportive communication during behaviour changes
• First Aid / CPR preferred
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check may be required
Responsibilities:
• Provide personal care (hygiene, dressing, toileting)
• Meal preparation and medication reminders
• Companionship and emotional support
• Assist with mobility and safety monitoring
• Support during times of confusion with kindness and understanding
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment
• Report any concerns or changes in condition to family members
