The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre Centre at No 189 Yonge Street in Toronto Canada is the last double decker or stacked Edwardian theatre facility in the world. Built in 1913 as the flagship of the Loews chain of vaudeville theatres, the 1500 seat Elgin Theatre is on the main level and the 1000 seat Winter Garden Theatre sits seven stories above it. The building was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1982.
