Violin and Viola Lessons (Parkdale, Toronto)

Hello, my name is Giulia!

I am a Toronto based violinist and violist. I teach Violin and Viola in my studio in Parkdale.

A few things about me:
-studied music in Italy and Switzerland
-recently completed my Master in Viola Performance at McGill University
-I love chamber music and animals (we have two cats)
-books and red wine on rainy days
-cooking with my husband Chris

My lessons are for you if you are older than 10, you have a passion for music, and want to learn either Viola or Violin. I welcome all levels and backgrounds, from the real beginner to the more advanced player!
I do not follow a specific method by default, as I normally like to adapt my exercises to the needs of every student, but I am familiar with Suzuki, RCM, and Paul Rolland methods.

In our sessions together you will:

-Improve your violin/viola technique
-Learn to take care of your instrument
-Develop a healthy posture
-Learn to read music
-Learn how to practice effectively
-Discover and nurture your own musicality

IMPORTANT: I do require my student to practice regularly, so that lessons are fun for both of us and I can introduce new material. Please be aware that the first lessons will be about laying healthy foundations on the instrument, so that all the rest will come more easily; be patient and trust the process! :)

The first trial lesson is $20. If after that you decide to keep learning with me, you may choose one of the following options:

3 lessons for $150 over 1 month.
6 lessons for $280 over 2 months.
10 lessons for $550 (one lesson is free) over three months.

Important: payment needs to be made before the lessons! I accept E-Transfers, Cash, and Cheques. I will give you a receipt after the payment has been made.

You are responsible for providing your own Violin or Viola. If you do not already own an instrument, I can recommend places where you can buy or rent one!

The time of lessons is pre-arranged and remains the same each week.
Exceptions to the schedule can be negotiated; in those cases, 24 hours advance notice must be given.

If you wish to cancel a lesson, you need to provide 24 hours advance notice, otherwise the lesson cannot be made up. Exceptions are accepted in case of an emergency, as sickness or unsafe weather.

Lesson Length
All lessons are 60 minutes long

Write me in case you have any questions or to book your first $20 trial lesson; I look forward to working with you!
