LF: Keyboard/Piano with harmonies and vocals (East York)

Greenwood is looking for a piano/keyboard player with great vocal capability.

You: A seasoned piano/keyboard player who can perform well, and learn quickly. You can find and sing harmonies at will. You can sing a decent lead if need be (usually if the songs ‘fits’ you better or if you bring the song).

Us: We play an interesting combination of pop songs from the seventies, Canadiana, and Americana. Songs you didn’t know you knew and less played classics. A lot of it has a country tinge to it. We are always complimented on our song selection. We have been together almost 5 years and we get gigs and put on a great show. We are 58 – 64 years of age, and have day jobs. We rehearse in East York, near the Danforth at my home. We are good folks and act as a collaborative unit. We have a solid rhythm section with bass and drums. The drummer also sings harmony for most songs. I sing most leads and sing harmony on other songs. I am mainly the rhythm guitar but do some solos.

The situation: Our lead guitar player is moving to Nova Scotia at the end of September and we need a replacement guitar player for him (there’s a separate ad for that person). Also, we have been planning to add piano/keyboards for some time, and now is the perfect time since there are other changes. For both positions we seek strong vocals both lead and harmony. We are open to having your influence and your songs and to whatever makes us a better band. Finally, we have a gig on Saturday December 7th that you would need to be ready for – that’s 13 weeks away.

Next steps: If you are interested please email me with a little about yourself. I will send you a current set list plus some extras we have in the mill as well as links to videos that prove our existence. We are hoping to try out at least one person for rehearsal this coming Wednesday, September 11th, from 6-8 pm.
