I am looking to meet like-minded musicians who who like to jam and explore and make music together.
I play a few instruments proficiently, including guitar, bass, keyboards(piano, Hammond organ, synths) and drums. My main love is jazz, particularly hard bop, modal and bebop, but am also big into 70's fusion, classic and progressive rock, classical music, folk music from different parts of the world (Celtic, Balkan, Turkish, Arabic, Indian, Hungarian), and some more "modern" rock bands as well.
I don't really have a specific project or type of music in mind, but am just hoping to see who is out there, and take it from there. Any instruments would be welcome, especially brass and woodwind players, violin/viola, and other guitar, keys, bass players or drummers. The more musical and theoretical knowledge, the better, though not necessary.
I have severe anxiety and agoraphobia which doesn't let me go out much, but I have a place to play and make as much noise as possible.
Kind people only, please.
I'll list some bands and artists and composers to give a better idea of what I'm into- a wide range, for sure. Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Return to Forever, Herbie Hancock, Brand X, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, ELP, Kansas, Genesis, John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Yusef Lateef, Gentle Giant, Bud Powell, Jean-Luc Ponty, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, Larry Young, Tony Williams, Bartok, Faure, Medtner, Chopin, Debussy, Ravel, Tool, Soundgarden, John Scofield, Medeski Martin Wood....
