Unit: Unfurnished, newly-renovated, third floor bedroom available in a large 4 bedroom/2 bathroom house. You would share a bathroom with the other third floor tenant, but the kitchen and living room (both furnished) are shared with the house. Large front porch and backyard space (both scheduled for improvements in spring/summer 2021). Laundry and storage in basement. Street parking available by permit.
Price: $975/month +internet, which is managed by one of the tenants and split between the house. Ideally 1 year lease, but open to shorter term.
Location: South Parkdale (corner of King St & Close Ave). Steps from both King and Queen streetcars. 5 minute walk to the waterfront (bike paths, parks and beaches). Minutes from the heart of Parkdale and shops on Queen. Close to Roncesvalles, Liberty Village, Queen West, High Park. Easy access to the Gardiner Expressway.
Relationship to the house: Owner.
Lease terms: February 1st, 2021, or as soon as possible (the room is ready). Rent can be paid by post-dated cheque or e-transfer monthly.
Required Documents: First and last month's rent deposit. Proof of income. Standard lease agreement to be signed.
Roommates: You will be sharing the house with three men in their mid-twenties, Trevor, Nick and Jamie. Nick lives on the ground floor, and is finishing up his studies in Philosophy and English Literature at U of T. Trevor lives on the second floor, and is a personal trainer (who also helped tremendously with renovating the house in 2020). Jamie lives on the third floor and is also finishing up his studies at U of T in Business and Economics. All of them are really personable and easy-going guys, who you will meet if you’re interested in the house!
Additional House Information: The interior of the house was just fully renovated, but maintains much of its original 1910 character and charm. The bedroom that is available is on the third floor, with a window that is south-facing and unobstructed by any buildings to provide ample sunlight throughout the day.
There are exterior improvements scheduled to begin in the warmer months (exterior paint, landscaping, front porch, new backyard fence and deck) so that the outdoor space can be enjoyed to its fullest. Street parking is available by permit (around $16/month). Laundry is included in the price, and is shared between the house in the basement. Storage available in unfinished basement.
