Looking for one of those small basement rooms (as small as 70sq.ft or larger) that might otherwise be used for storage, but which the house dweller is willing to rent out cheaply as living space for about $300.00 on a month by month basis. Or a conventional room if I can get one for the same price, of course. But I only need a table to sit behind, some real solitude, and not necessarily lots of space.
I am a male artist. I want a small live/work space with dimensions adequate to allow me to set up a table to draw on, chair to sit in, electrical outlet to plug laptops, lamp, and kettle into. If the room is small, I could roll out a mat on the floor to sleep on, roll it back up when I wake, make tea, sit back down at the desk to continue working. I don't use odorous or flamable material like paint, just pencil and paper. Ideally, the space could be as large as possible, but I'll take what I can get. I'm also a non-smoker, don't drink alcohol, like to eat healthy.
I need wifi included (could contribute to cost), need access to a fridge or permission to bring in/plug in a mini-fridge of my own. Room needs to be clean (bug, rodent, dust-free), and relatively quiet and private - as most basements would be.
Bonuses would be: private entrance into basement, location nearby TTC subway station, other artists in the house.
Almost too much to expect in such a high-rent city, but doesn't hurt to ask.
