I am subletting my cozy bachelor apartment starting February 1st, located in a well-maintained apartment complex at Dovercourt and Bloor.
This apartment comes semi-furnished with a double bed, mattress, loveseat, coffee table, dining table, side table, and some assorted kitchen items (plates, cups, pots, pans, etc.) There's lots of room to bring your own stuff as well.
This place is perfect for one quiet, tidy person. I've lived here for years and love it - I've set this price slightly cheaper so that I find someone who will take care of it while I'm away. Its been freshly painted and I'd like to return to it in the same condition. Not sure when I'll be returning to Toronto, it would likely be over a year, and I'd give 2 months notice.
It's a cheap, cheerful and old building and there are a lot of pros. It is totally private, with a western view of the sunset, roofs and trees (so it feels a bit like living in a little treehouse). It has excellent connections to the TTC (Ossington, Dufferin station), it's a 5 minute walk to Bloor/Gladstone library, a 10 minute walk to Dufferin Mall (No Frills and Wal-Mart for cheap groceries), it's about 8 minutes to Dufferin Park, and about 15 minutes to the closest YMCA / gym. Plus plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
The neighbours are friendly and the walls are well insulated so you don't hear anything. It's not as luxurious as some new condos in the city, but it's cheaper and an amazing location, so hopefully it's somewhere you would be happy to call home. The rent is usually increase by a very little amount each Jan.
